ABOUT YOUR HOST (2023-Present)

DAVID WALTERS – a lifelong Kitsap County local, graduating from North Kitsap High School before heading to Olympic College and Gonzaga University to earn his degree in mechanical engineering. A proud fourth-generation Shipyard worker, David spent 34 years at the Shipyard as a nuclear engineer and production manager before retiring in 2023.

David and his wife, Katie, raised their three sons in Silverdale and now make their home in Chico. Never one to sit still, he fills his days remodeling their house, volunteering each week at the St. Vincent de Paul food bank in Bremerton, and exploring the world—most recently by completing the 500-mile Camino de Santiago in northern Spain.

The Leadership Kitsap Foundation has been an important part of David’s life for more than two decades. He graduated with the Class of 2003 and later spent six years on the LK Board, serving one term as Board President. Katie is also deeply connected to the organization as a 2019 graduate and former Executive Director.
