This is a certification course to then take the Positive Leadership Curriculum, as taught throughout the Leadership Kitsap Signature Program, and train others in Positive Leadership.

Positive leaders create positive institutions and thriving communities. Positive leaders skillfully undertake purposeful action that evokes positive reactions from others with the goal to make progress toward a common goal. We define leadership as the activity of engaging oneself and others in order to align the factors necessary to thrive.

Like any activity, leadership can be done at various levels of performance and one’s performance can be enhanced with knowledge and practice.

In today’s usage, thriving means: to grow or develop vigorously, to succeed, or to flourish. Some additional signs of thriving include health, excellence, winning and happiness. Thriving is the ultimate outcome that everyone wants – whether it be in the family, at the workplace, in our community or world.

Community Leader Peer Coaching Groups are cohort-based programs for the professional and personal development of leaders looking to learn and collaborate with other business executives in a safe space.

Leaders can use their current work experiences, and the experiences of others in the cohort, as opportunities for growth and learning through facilitated dialog. Group members can share their unique leadership challenges, gain meaningful insights, and create a system of personal accountability through the support, wisdom, and guidance of peers in leadership from across the region.
