According to the Gallup Organization, “In times of grueling disruption, to continually inspire their people, leaders must invest in their own development.” September-December, 2020 38 community leaders participated in an 8 module, online Positive Leadership Master Class to develop a personalized plan to harness authenticity, purpose, advocacy, resilience, community building, reason, and gratitude to thrive in their personal and professional leadership.
The class was facilitated by Leadership Kitsap Board Members Dedra Miller, Certified Positive Leadership Trainer and Jennifer Yeaman, Certified Diversity and Process Improvement Professional. Participants engaged weekly in small groups, and with guest speakers and notable community leaders.
- I’ve taken a lot of leadership classes that are usually all the same class presented differently but this has been a refreshing class with new points and ideas.
- This class wasn’t what I expected in all the best ways.
- I think there are a lot of little things that I’m going to take to my organization: things like “clutter inhibits resilience” or “leadership is an activity.”
Community leaders thriving in each capacity were interviewed by Leadership Kitsap Executive Director Katie Walters. Positive Leadership author Adam Seaman joined our final class to share his insights on his book and thriving. View clips from our online class below.
