Civil discourse is engagement in conversation intended to enhance understanding. Join us for this one-day professional development workshop where participants will explore and learn strategies for structuring conversations around polarizing issues in service of shared learning and deeper understanding. This is an essential capacity for leaders and communities.

Greg Abell is a national workshop facilitator and has led workshops for Leadership Kitsap for several years around issues of change management, critical conversations, trust in the workplace, and conflict management. This year we asked him to create a workshop for us on civil discourse. This is a hot topic for our community as we head into election season as well as important professional skills for handling conflict and challenging conversations in the workplace!

Shared impact from last year’s workshop:
• I feel more confident in forming my new team of employees.
• I will ask more questions and identify criteria to help understand the why to help move toward a solution.
• Great tools to have to use in your job or day to day life.
• I need to have my entire agency participate in this training!
