ERIC BAKER –Eric Baker has worked for Kitsap County for more than 30 years in all facets of County government. Graduating from the University of Puget Sound, Eric began in Community Development overseeing projects and programs in zoning, building, comprehensive and community planning and economic development. Over the last 15 years, Eric has worked directly for the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners, growing his experience beyond planning into the areas of real estate, parks planning, design and financing and legislation review and promotion at the state and federal levels. As Policy Manager for the Board, Eric has been responsible for countywide Comprehensive Plan updates in 2006 and 2012, management of the acquisition and expansion of the Port Gamble, North Kitsap and Illahee Heritage parks, regional advocacy with the Puget Sound Regional Council and Puget Sound Clean Air Agencies, oversight of millions of dollars in federal energy efficiency and COVID-19 relief funding and scores of other unrelated projects. Turn-on’s include Netflix original series, sushi making and permanent protection of open space. Turn-off’s include real estate negotiations, any use of the word “irregardless” and all white wines.
